My Full Weekly Skincare Routine: Simple, Effective, and Affordable
I have a hard time finding anyone sharing their full weekly skincare routine. To be fair, I did find one once done by the Doctorly guys. I love their channel—they are funny, their research is thorough, and they clearly distinguish between personal opinion and facts. They are a great resource for skincare! So, back to the skincare routine topic. The main problem I see is that people usually share one routine for a specific skin type (which is good to know). However, none of these people do the exact same routine all week, and it’s sometimes hard to tell which products they swap and which they keep in precise order. This kind of experimentation has caused me most of my skincare mistakes!
Anyway, today I want to share my routine. Keep in mind I don’t have sensitive skin. I have combination skin which becomes oily in hot, humid climates and drier in cold, dry climates. I am also always fighting acne, as slight changes in anything cause breakouts. Here’s my very affordable, straight-to-the-point routine:
Monday Morning
- Splash of water (I usually don’t use a cleanser in the morning)
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- Melano CC Vitamin C
- Inkey List Eye Brightening Cream
- iUNIK Centella Sunscreen
Monday Evening
- iUNIK Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil
- The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser (not drying, very gentle)
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner (initially unimpressed, but now I love it—it makes my skin tighter and helps other ingredients work better)
- The Ordinary Azelaic Acid
- French A313 Retinol (iconic French retinol)
- Inkey List Eye Retinol Cream
- ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
Tuesday to Friday Morning
- Splash of water
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- Melano CC Vitamin C
- The Inkey List Eye Brightening Cream
- Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50 PA++++ (I use this when I go to the office; my skin looks better with this sunscreen)
Tuesday to Friday Evening
- iUNIK Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil
- The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser (I switch to this on some days to keep pimples away)
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- The Ordinary Azelaic Acid
- French A313 Retinol
- The Inkey List Eye Retinol Cream
- ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
Saturday Morning
- Splash of water
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- Melano CC Vitamin C
- The Inkey List Eye Brightening Cream
- iUNIK Centella Sunscreen
Saturday Evening
- iUNIK Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil
- The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser
- The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (it’s strong, so I skip most ingredients)
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
Sunday Morning
- Splash of water
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- Melano CC Vitamin C
- The Inkey List Eye Brightening Cream
- iUNIK Centella Sunscreen
Sunday Evening
- iUNIK Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil
- The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser (a little treatment to prevent acne flare-ups)
- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner
- ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
As you can see, I don’t really change my morning routine. Probably because I am not a morning person, I want to be able to do it while half-asleep with minimal effort. I stick to a minimum that is quick and effective, protecting my skin throughout the day.
